Early Help Connector


Murray Valley Aboriginal Cooperative (MVAC) is seeking a dedicated Early Help Connector to join our Family & Youth Services team in Robinvale.



In this full-time role, you will work closely with families experiencing emerging challenges, delivering early intervention support to enhance children’s development, strengthen parent well-being, and foster positive family relationships. You will assess needs, deliver tailored interventions, and connect families to universal services, all while maintaining a strong commitment to Child Safe Standards and Aboriginal cultural awareness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with eligible families facing low-level barriers and vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct holistic needs assessments and develop individualised care plans.
  • Deliver short- and medium-term interventions to improve family functioning.
  • Connect families with universal services and community resources.
  • Monitor and assess child safety risks, escalating where necessary.


      Key Requirements

      • Experience in community services, ideally within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
      • Knowledge of Child Safe Standards and child protection laws.
      • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
      • Cultural awareness and respect for local Aboriginal history.
      • Current Working with Children Check, Police Check, and Driver’s Licence.
