AOD Support Worker
Are you passionate about improving the health and well-being of Indigenous communities?
Murray Valley Aboriginal Cooperative (MVAC) was established in 1974 to provide Health, Housing, and Child Care/Education services to our community. Today, MVAC is the largest service provider in Robinvale and continues to grow, delivering holistic, culturally grounded support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider community.
As a Child Safe Organisation, MVAC is committed to embedding the Child Safe Standards across all programs. Compliance with legislation and regulations is mandatory for all staff members.
About the Role
The AOD (Alcohol and Other Drugs) Support Worker plays a vital role in providing high-quality, client-centred case management and outreach support to community members impacted by alcohol and other drugs.
Working as part of MVAC’s Social Wellbeing Team, you’ll collaborate closely with SEWB (Social and Emotional Wellbeing) programs, Health Practice staff, and Mental Health Clinicians to deliver coordinated care and culturally safe support.
Using a strength-based, recovery-focused approach, you’ll assess client needs, provide interventions, and help individuals connect with the right internal and external services. You’ll also play an important role in identifying service gaps, advocating for clients, and contributing to a holistic community wellbeing framework.
Programs within the Social Wellbeing Team include the Time Out Service, Counselling, HACC/CHSP (Home and Community Care/Commonwealth Home Support Program), the First Nations Program for Younger People, Elder Care Support, and SEWB services.
If you are a motivated individual, we want to hear from you! Please submit your resume and a cover letter outlining your relevant experience via the form below. Or or a position description please contact MVAC on 5026 3353.
