Admin Support Officer
Are you passionate about improving the health and well-being of Indigenous communities?
The Admin Support Officer will be the first point of contact for clients, community members, and visitors at MVAC. This role is critical to creating a welcoming, culturally safe, and professional environment while supporting the smooth day-to-day operations of the organisation. You will manage reception duties including calls, enquiries, scheduling, and visitor support, while also providing administrative assistance to program teams and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact at reception, delivering culturally safe and professional customer service.
- Manage incoming calls, emails, and in-person enquiries, directing them appropriately.
- Provide administrative support including document preparation, data entry, filing, and record-keeping.
- Assist with scheduling of meetings, appointments, and events.
- Maintain office systems, supplies, and resources to ensure efficient operations.
- Support effective communication across teams and with external stakeholders.
- Uphold confidentiality, compliance with policies, and child safety standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of administrative systems and processes.
- Experience in administration or community services, ideally in a not-for-profit or community-focused organisation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Understanding of Aboriginal culture, history, and community engagement.
- Knowledge of Child Safety Standards and relevant compliance obligations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, email, and records management.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
- Respect for and understanding of Aboriginal culture and history.
- Professional, approachable, and adaptable in a dynamic environment.
- Commitment to cultural safety and child safety principles.
- Current Working with Children Check and Police Check.
- Current unrestricted driver’s licence.
- First Aid Certificate desirable.
- Commitment to MVAC’s values, policies, and continuous improvement.
